Champions League Group Competition Kick-Off For Today, 7th Sepember, 2022.

Champions League for today features seven interesting matches. Every team competing today will try as much as possible to get the upper hand by winning their matches and their fore take precaution for the second leg of this fixture. Out of the matches fixed for today, the one that interests me the most is that of Sevilla against Manchester City. So, I decided to write my preview concerning this match.

Sevilla’s Problem to Continue Tonight

History has shown that in the Champions League group stage, Sevilla has only defeated teams from England once. This includes a back-to-back loss to Manchester  City when the two teams last played each other, and today, the host will experience another loss

Sevilla have only earned one point from their first four La Liga fixtures, scoring late to tie the game against a lowly rated Real Valladolid at home. After losing to Osasuna and Almeria, they were completely destroyed by Barcelona last week.

After a relatively easy beginning for the season, Sevilla looks to be in trouble after conceding  8  goals so far. The guests should easily win this match because the hosts only managed to win one of their 6  group matches last season and they seem to have gone backward since then.

Manchester City To Add More Mysteries To Sevilla

Manchester City’s fantastic start came to an abrupt end in Saturday’s stalemate against Aston Villa. Sevilla should be concerned about their opponent’s  20 goals over their first six games. Sevilla have lost 3 of their previous 4 matches and have had a terrible start to the new campaign. Coming up to play one of the favorites for the Champions League trophy appears to be a difficult task for them because they are having trouble keeping up at home.

Erling Haaland To Open His Champions League Scoring Account

Manchester City have struggled in this league over the years, but they have signed a player who has a history of scoring a ton of goals. In his 18 participation in the Champions League, Erling Haaland has netted 23 goals. With this record, he has achieved the best goals-per-game ratio in Champions League history.

He played 13 Champions League games for Borussia Dortmund and scored 16  goals, including 4 goals in two games against Sevilla in the 2020/2021 season. I believe he will score against Sevilla again and will produce over 2.5 goals in the process.

Manchester City Expected To Record Their First 2022/2023 Champions League Victory

With Manchester City leading the English Premier league in goals scored, expect them to cause problems for a Sevilla team that is struggling to find their feet and was plainly outclassed by Barcelona last weekend. Manchester City should be too formidable for the host, therefore anything less than 3 goals or more will be a surprise to me.
