Europa League and Europa Conference League tournaments have just started and many teams are expected to advance to the next stage of this competition quickly while some are destined to struggle and perhaps, get eliminated by the dominant teams. However, this is just the group stage of the match and hence, some bigger tea,s may rest their key players to avoid undue fatigue which may lead to injury.
As for today, the match I will be writing about is that of West Ham United against FCSB. I chose this match because I believe the home side will definitely trash their visitors even if they played their 2nd eleven squads. Without further ado, below is my preview.
Match Preview
West Ham United vs FCSB (Europa League)
Due to their sluggish start in the Premier League, West Ham can now turn their attention to the Europa Conference League in an effort to improve on their place in the European competition and also to avoid what happened in the semi-finals of the previous campaign.
Bucharest travels to London in terrible form, but West Ham has won 4 of their previous 6 home games in European tournaments. West Ham should have no problem thrashing Bucharest tonight. A victory on Thursday, according to David Moyes, will hopefully boost their hope for a successful league season.
Bucharest can’t depend on their terrible form
Romania’s premier division now has Bucharest in 4th place, and Nicolae Dica’s team must be lacking confidence going into this match today. Given the caliber of competition they had to overcome to advance to the group stages of this tournament, Bucharest has only earned one point from their last 3 away league games this season.
To reach this far, Bucharest had to defeat teams from both Romania and Norway. The Romanian team may crumble if West Ham scores first on Thursday.
West Ham expected to thrash FCSB in London
The value bet for this particular match for me is to back the host to win with a -1 handicap. West Ham won all qualification games with two goals or more to make it to this stage, while Bucharest has lost 2 of its 3 away league games this particular season. 3-0in favor of the host is my predicted scoreline.
