Qatar 2022 World Cup, Day 9.

Qatar 2022 World Cup is getting hotter as some underdogs teams are busy breaking the barriers, beating the favourites and getting their well deserved 3 points. Who would have believed that Morrocc will beat Belgium with a comfortable 2-0 scorelines.

I mean, surprises won’t stop happening in the world of football. As for today, we hope we can take the bull by the horn.

  • Serbians are expected to beat Cameroon in a hard fought match to secure their first 3 points and ease the pressure on them
  • Its not quite clear who is going to win between South Korea vs Ghana match. Both teams will be desperate for 3 points but I am sure one of them will come out on top.
  • Brazil will definitely beat Switzerland to book their place in the round of 16. They have the quality players in their arsenal to get the job done for them.
  • Portugal and Uruguay may play cautiously not to concede goals. However, even if one of them wins, I think under 2.5 goals should be seen.

Bet of the day

Brazil vs Switzerland

Brazil displayed a wonderful performance last time out against Serbia and are expected to replicate such performance against an inconsistent Switzerland side. Brazil should win @1.50 Won

Reasons for my prediction

  • Brazil have scored at two goals in 7 of their last 8 matches
  • Richarlison has scored more number of goals in international competitions since 2018 than any other Brazilian player and he is fit to start.
  • Switzerland have lost 5 of their previous 8 World Cup meetings with South American teams.

Brazil to miss Neymar’s service

Brazil defeated Serbia 2-0 to win their opening match at the 2022 World Cup, getting off to an almost flawless start. However, Neymar is out for the remainder of the group stage, so they will have to manage matches against Switzerland and Cameroon without him.

Since making his World Cup debut in 2014, Neymar has been fouled 53 times. No player received as many fouls as he did against Serbia (nine), thus it’s better that Brazil rest him for the upcoming week as they attempt to capture a record-breaking sixth championship.

Brazil has plenty of scoring talent even without their superstar, and that talent should be on display against a Swiss team that also had a successful start.

Can Swiss give Brazil a tough time?

Brazil have regressed since taking home the World Cup in 2002, falling behind the top European teams. Since 16 of Brazil’s 18 World Cup losses have been to European nations, they typically lose to them when they struggle in this competition.

Since losing to a European team in every World Cup since 1998, the South American giants’ previous run of victories over European teams was between 2002 and 2006.

Even if that might caution you from betting on the World Cup favorites, think of it as the true test of their chances of winning the trophy. This Brazilian team is receiving attention because so far, they appear to be competitive. For Tite’s team to start the tournament with victories over the teams that defeated Portugal and Italy in qualifying would be a strong statement.

Richarlison expected to score again

Consider Richarlison once more as Brazil’s primary goal threat now that Neymar is missing. The Tottenham attacker has recently been in fine form for his nation, and he strengthened that with two stunning goals against the Swiss. In his last seven matches for Brazil in all competitions, he has scored nine goals. He has scored 19 goals for Brazil since his national team debut in September 2018, more than any other player during that time period.

Brazil scored 40 goals in 14 qualifying games, and in seven of their past eight international contests, they have scored twice or more. While this Swiss team allowed three goals to France and Italy at last year’s Euros, they should be able to make up for Neymar’s absence with the variety of midfield skill they have brought to Qatar. In this fight, they are expected to give fans a fun for their money.

In their last 16 World Cup group-stage games, Brazil is undefeated. In contrast, Switzerland has lost five of their eight finals matches against South American opponents. They have only won once. Today, bet on Brazil to triumph 2-0 once again.
