There are numerous matches to select from but I have chosen the match of Manchester United vs. Newcastle United as my bet of the day.

In order to qualify for this final game, the Red Devils thrashed Nottingham Forest 5-0 on aggregate, while Eddie Howe’s young players defeated Southampton 3-1 over the course of two legs in the semifinals.

Midweek, Manchester United defeated Barcelona at Old Trafford after coming from behind to win their 16th game in a row overall.

They will undoubtedly think highly of their chances to overcome a six-year trophy drought.

Newcastle United plays without their first-choice goalkeeper.

Newcastle’s performance has fallen off at the worst possible time, with the Magpies only winning four of their last 11 games overall, with three of those victories coming in the Carabao Cup.

It’s not exactly the best preparation for Eddie Howe’s team to be without starting goalkeeper Nick Pope.

For Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, Erik ten Hag will be without the injured trio of Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, and Anthony Martial.

However, Marcus Rashford’s availability due to an ankle issue is very worrisome.

In spite of the fact that this is United’s first opportunity to win a trophy in six years, Ten Hag must also make a tactical choice regarding his full-backs.

Expert’s opinion

Newcastle is not the same defensive power that they were only a few weeks ago, and Man United won’t need a second invitation to test the gloves of the out-of-practice Karius.

The Red Devils will likely have to suffer a grueling 120 minutes of play due to Rashford’s potential injury and weariness from Thursday night.

But, Newcastle’s recent lack of attacking incisiveness could make the difference as Man United moves closer to winning the trophy.
