AFCON Qualification Predictions for Today. 24th Mar. 2023.

AFCON Qualification predictions for today are ready and I have made my selections in that regard.

The qualification matches for today are 14;in number but I selected only 8 out of those 14 games.

Bet of the day.

Nigeria vs Guinea Bissau.

This match will be played by 5:00pm (WAT). Nigeria has scored two goals or more in each of their last six home qualifiers to win five of those games.
Can Guinea Bissau’s porous defense stop the in-form Osimhen from scoring a couple of goals?

Nigeria will capitalize on their two straight victories in this encounter.

The Super Eagles have won their last two AFCON qualifying matches so far, and if they defeat Guinea Bissau in both home and away, they will advance to the tournament. In a game played in Morocco, they defeated Sao Tome 10-0 after defeating Sierra Leone 2-1.

The Super Eagles are tipped to bounce back from their recent poor performances.

Since then, they fell to Ghana in a penalty-filled CHAN playoff (2-2 on aggregate). In the past six months, they’ve played three friendly games and lost each one.

Before their 2-0 setback in Costa Rica, they suffered a 2-1 loss to Algeria. In their most recent game, a pre-World Cup friendly in Portugal, they were thrashed 4-0 by the Portuguese team.

Guinea-Bissau’s problems will continue against the Super Eagles.

The African wild dogs first qualified by defeating Sao Tome 5-1 before drawing 2-2 with Sierra Leone. In that game, they had a 2-0 lead but were unable to hold on with ten men.

After that, Guinea-Bissau’s team who plays in their domestic league lost 3 out of 4 games in the CHAN competition. They were also defeated by Gabon 3-1 in November.

Guinea-Bissau drew 0-0 with Gambia in their most recent game.

Head-to-head comparison.

these two teams have met each other just once.

During the recent CAF African Cup of Nations in 2022, Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0.

Nigeria’s team news.

Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong, the center backs, have been omitted by coach José Peseiro.

Folarin Balogun, a striker for Amiens, has not been called up despite putting up good performances for the club. Gift Orban of Gent, who has scored 12 goals in 10 games this season, was also not selected.

Guinea-Bissau’s team news.

Jorginho and Zinho Gano, two forwards, have both scored three goals in the past qualifying games. Sana Gomes, a left back, has been suspended due to a red card.

Teenage Mamadi Camará of Reading FC could receive playing time from head coach Baciro Candé.

Fact Check.

  • Nigeria have won 5 of their previous 6 AFCON qualification matches at home.
  • Guinea-Bissau have conceded 2 goals or more in 5 of their previous 7 away matches in this competition.

Expert’s opinion.

By Jay-Jay Okocha.

Nigeria may have recently struggled in friendly matches, but they still possess a strong striking force in Teremas Moffi and Victor Osimhen. As Guinea-Bissau tends to concede goals away from home, I predict that the Super Eagles will win by two or more goals.

News update : Ronaldo breaks another record in Portugal’s latest victory

Nigeria vs Guinea Bissau prediction.

With Victor Osimhen, the best striker in Africa right now in Nigeria’s team, I will pick the Super Eagles to win by at least, a two goal difference.
