Manchester United enters this contest fresh off a 3-1 FA Cup victory over Everton, another Premier League team.
They qualified for their quarterfinal against Charlton by defeating Burnley 2-0 in the League Cup’s last round.
Charlton will try to cause upset against the Red devils
The lowest rated and only London team still in the League Cup, Charlton, enters this match with a winning record in League One, having most recently defeated Lincoln City on Saturday by a score of 2-1.
They have eliminated teams from divisions higher than their own in two of their four League Cup games this year, including Championship team QPR and Premier League team Brighton.
Manchester United’s Team News
Due to a knee injury acquired during the victory over Bournemouth last week, Donny van de Beek will miss this match.
Jadon Sancho is still out while Axel Tuanzebe remains injured.
Bruno Fernandes received a red card and because of his suspension, Christian Eriksen might start at number 10 with Fred partnering Casemiro.
Jack Butland might be in line to start today after completing his loan transfer to Manchester United last week.
Charlton’s Team News.
Because Ashley Maynard-Brewer is questionable and Joseph Wollacott is still out with a finger injury, Craig MacGillivray might start in his position.
Diallang Jaiyesimi and Mandela Egbo are left out, but Chuks Aneke is another player who has to be looked at.
After serving a ban, Sean Clare is now available for selection.
Conclusion
Manchester United have more quality players who plays at higher level competition than Charlton.
Moreover, considering the home field advantage, the Red devils should win this game easily.
