International break football matches for today are not many. They are just two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and few friendly matches.
I have therefore made only 3 selections from today’s matches and added a few games that will be played tomorrow.
Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers and Predictions.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is currently organizing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches to choose the competing teams for the 34th edition of the international men’s football championship of Africa in Ivory Coast.
There will be 24 teams competing in the final event, including the hosts, Ivory Coast, who automatically qualify. So knowing this, below are our predictions.
1. Benin Republic vs Rwanda.
Rwanda and Benin frequently play games with few goals. In the AFCON Qualifications, Rwanda has been collecting a lot of 0-0 draws.
Benin on the other hand have not been able to score in 4 of their previous 5 AFCON qualification matches while Rwanda have produced under 2.5 goals in 6 of their previous 7 AFCON qualification matches.
Both Benin and Rwanda are having trouble scoring goals and have lost all of their AFCON qualifying games. I anticipate that a close game will see two goals or less coming on board.
Prediction.
Under 2.5 goals @1.50
2. Sierra Leone vs Sao Tome and Principe.
The visitors Sao Tome and Principe are off to a bad start in the AFCON qualifiers with huge losses of 5-1 and 10-0.
Sierra Leone have won by 2 goals or more in their previous two home matches against Sao Tome e Principe while Sao Tome e Principe have lost by at least 4 goals in their last two games..
In Sao Tome e Principe’s first two AFCON qualifying games, they had conceded 14 goals.
Prediction.
Sierra Leone to win by -2 handicap @2.02.
3. Ghana vs Angola
Ghana are victorious in their last 6
AFCON Qualification matches at home and have kept 5 clean sheets in their previous 6 home matches.
Angola are in a poor form of loosing 6 of their previous 9 AFCON Qualification matches which they have played away from home and have not been able to score any goal in 2 of their last 3 AFCON Qualification games.
Besides, Since 2010, Ghana has not lost an AFCON qualifying match at home. They are expected to defeat Angola because they have a much stronger team.
Prediction.
Ghana to win @1.57
International Friendly Match.
Ireland vs Latvia
In Ireland’s five victories over Latvia, they have scored 14 goals while allowing just one. The Boys in Green ought to easily win this game.
Moreover, they have won in 4 of their previous 5 matches against Latvia without conceding a goal while Latvia have lost in 3 of their previous 4 away matches in Euro qualifiers without scoring a goal.
Prediction.
Ireland win to nil @1.87
