Featured Matches

1. Manchester United vs Brighton (15:00 CAT)

Manchester United will be eager to start the new season in style under the guidance of their new coach, Eric Ten Hang. The coach is an attacking-minded manager and will want to make a statement in his first Premier League match as the Manchester United manager. C. Ronaldo seems to have dropped his desire o leave the club and will lead the attack as Anthony Martial was injured. Jadon Sancho is sick and it’s unclear if he will play this match. Tyrell Malacia a newcomer, will be featured in place of Luke Shaw as his availability is doubtful.

Brighton put up a decent performance last season and finished in the top 10 of the Premier League table. This is quite commendable for a club that is underestimated like them. They sold Marc Cucurella who was voted for as their best player to Chelsea and so his replacement may not be as good as he is. Furthermore, his absence is a huge miss for the club. Solly March who is his potential replacement will need time to adapt.

Key Fact

Manchester United have defeated Brighton in their past five meetings

Manchester United will be too much for the current Brighton squad and the fans will be eager to see nothing but a win for the home side and build their confidence in the new coach. The victorious Manchester United history against Brighton will continue @1.69 odd.

2. West Ham vs Manchester City (18:30 CAT)

West Ham performed beyond expectation last season and even reached the semi-final stage of the Europa League, before being eliminated by Eintracht Frankfurt. However, they will want to replicate that decent form they experienced last season even though they will now be competing in Europa Conference League. Nayef Aguerd who they just signed newly will not be available as he was injured during their preseason matches.

The defending champions Manchester City have signed Erling Haaland. They need to win as many games as they can with plenty of goals including the Champion League. They will also hope to retain their Premier League title following the arrival of the world-class striker. Aymeric Laporte had knee surgery and so he is ruled out.

Key Fact

  • Manchester City have not lost to West Ham in their past 16 meetings
  • They have produced over 2.5 goals in their previous 7 Premier League matches

Predictions

Both teams played an offensive football style last season and produced a 2-2 draw. However, with the presence of Erling Haaland who is very clinical in scoring goals, I think Pep Guardiola’s men will dismantle West Ham to take the 3 points in a high-scoring thriller. Manchester City to beat West Ham @1.39 is my first choice pick while Manchester City to beat them with over 2.5 goals @1.88 is my second choice but valuable pick.

3. Rennes vs Lorient (16:05 CAT)

Rennes signed two new defenders, Joe Rodon and Arthur Theatre to cement their defensive line during the preseason. Nevertheless, their attackers are still doing excellently well and will hope to start the new season with a great opportunity of taking the massive 3 points against a lowly rated Lorient. Their talisman Steve Mandanda is expected to start as usual and can get his name recorded on the score sheet. Jérémy Doku is inured ans so will miss tis match.

Lorient hired a new manager to help rebuild the team but I think it is not something that can happen overnight. Régis Le Bris will need enough time to do that but as for today, he will be facing a big challenge by playing against a side that has better player quality than his side.

Key Fact

Rennes have defeated Liorent comfortably in 4 of their previous 5 meetings

Predictions

Surprises may happen here as this is a derby match but I am confident the home team will come out on top. Rennes to beat Lorient @1.41 is my first choice pick while Rennes to bet the guest with a -1 handicap @2.08 is my second choice pick which also has a good value.
