1. Fulham vs Liverpool
Fulham will experience a harsh welcome into the Premier League as they host Liverpool on Saturday at noon. The Reds have won in each of their previous four trips to Craven Cottage, while the most recent meeting between these two teams in 2020 ended in a low-scoring draw.
Considering their victory over Manchester City in the just concluded Community Shield thriller last weekend, Liverpool will be eager to establish themselves quickly in the Premier League and hopefully in the lead. Moreover, with their attacking football style, Liverpool was able to have an outstanding record last season. The team led by Jurgen Klopp should win easily in their kick-off match in Craven Cottage and score over 2.5 goals in the process.
2. Tottenham vs Southampton
As Tottenham prepare to play their first full season under Antonio Conte, there is building optimism at the pitch. They will be eager to start the season on a winning note after a good finish in 2021/22 earned them a Champions League spot.
The Saints manage to win against Tottenham last season, but they had a terrible finish to the season, winning just one of their final 11 league games and dropping their final four. Southampton were defeated in their last six matches against the Merseyside team before their thrilling victory at Spurs. Tottenham has the quality and firepower to begin the season with a clean slate and will be ready to seek revenge on Southampton for their loss from the previous season.
3. Newcastle vs Nottingham
Newcastle performed very well in the last season’s Premier League, but notwithstanding their enormous wealth, they were able to sign a few players. However, the signings add top-tier defense expertise, with Nick Pope standing out as a strong acquisition.
As Nottingham Forest plays Newcastle United today, it will be their first meeting in 23 years. Surprisingly, Nottingham Forest was at the bottom of the Championship last year season, Their head coach, Steve Cooper did miracles to lead them to the Premier League.
The influence Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has on the team ever since he took over as the team manager had suggested that the Magpies will begin this new season on a positive note.
4. Clement Foot vs PSV
Last season, Clermont was well-coordinated but excessively dependent on their top striker, Mohamed Bayo. Clement are expected to suffer in this game without the Guinea international. Even if PSG appeared to have had a little of a preseason scenic drive with their trip to Japan, their display against Nantes in the just concluded Trophée des Champions demonstrated that they will always be a decent choice for success any given week in the French Ligue 1.
Wow great analysis as always green, thanks
