Why I chose this match.
Bayern Munich aims to continue their excellent performance solidify their leading position in the Bundesliga rankings as they host Freiburg at the Allianz Arena today in the afternoon.
Before the international break, the defending champions drew 2-2 with Union Berlin and lost two points away from home. However, Vincent Kompany’s team is viewed as a clear favorite to defeat Freiburg today as they will now play in front of their home supporters.
Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala are still in the recovery room. Aside two of them, the home club have no new injury concerns.
Freiburg on the hand, have been loosing to Bayern Munich on their last seven visits to Allianz Arena which is Bayern’s home. Although they were able to defeat St. Pauli in their last match, they are expected to loose again to Bayern as usual.
Moreover, they have been struggling away from home as they have only managed to win one game in their last five away games and this one looks more like a mission impossible.
Derry Scherhant is vying for a recall to Freiburg’s starting eleven, while Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Eren Dinkci, and Cyriaque Irie are all out due to injuries.
Bayern Munich are enjoying an excellent start to the season because they are in a very good form and have won all their home matches so far. Bearing this fact in mind, I will bank on them to win.
