Bayern Munich Predicted to Edge past Inter Milan

Bayern Munich To Revenge Their Knockout Against Inter Milan in 2011.

The most anticipated Champions League match tonight takes place at the San Siro when German champion Bayern Munich and Italian powerhouse Inter Milan face off for the first time since 11 years ago.

When these teams last played each other in a major tournament, Bayern Munich on that particular day defeated Inter Milan on the second leg during the round of 16 contest as Inter Milan ultimately won on away goals. However, the visitors come into this match in better shape as they have not lost any match this year and have scored an incredible 17 goals in just 5 German Bundesliga matches. Buona Sar is still injured and so will not play. Leon Goretzka’s comeback from injury will boost the morale of the visitors.

Inter Milan to Suffer Another Defeat at the Hand of Their Visitor

Inter Milan, on the other hand, comes into this game in questionable shape after suffering 2 losses in their last 3 matches. They have been in excellent form as these were their first losses since April! Today,  they will be playing a ruthless Bayern Munich team that dominated the group stage of last season, winning their first 5 matches and advancing without much of a fight.

The Nerazzurri’s major advantage is that none of the previous 19  opponents have managed to prevent them from hitting the net.

It shouldn’t be too difficult for a player like Dzeko to get past a porous Bayern Munich defense, but I believe Bayern will be too much for them and outscore their Italian opponents. Romelu Lukaku’s availability for this match is uncertain so Edin Dzeko or Joaquín Correa may replace him if it is confirmed that he won’t be available. Their newly acquired and experienced goalkeeper Andre Onana may make his first Champions League appearance for the Nerazzurri.

Fact Check

Bayern Munich have defeated Inter Milan as visitors in their last 3 meetings.

Prediction

In terms of the outcome, Bayern Munich having a hard fight to win would likely be the wise move given that both teams were likely to play aggressively in an effort to get their new Champions League season off to a positive start.
