Nigeria vs Sudan Tips and Analysis

The odds on paper were against Nigeria to win when they faced Egypt last time out. They shocked many football pundits by not only winning but also dominating the match. Today, they will face Sudan for another 3 points and will put everything at their disposal to get it.
Sudan played a boring draw against Guinea-Bissau last week and will hope to cause an upset here against Nigeria as they seek to end a six-match goalless run in all competitions.

In the Nigerian squad, Kenneth Omeruo was injured against Egypt and will miss this match against Sudan tonight. Semi Ajayi is expected to take his position and play alongside William Troost-Ekong at the defense. The Super Eagles interim coach Austin Eguavon may deploy the same squad that faced Egypt last week.

My Verdict

Nigeria has beaten Sudan in 2 of their last 3 meetings. Again, there is a big quality difference between Nigeria and the Sudanese Squad. Moreover, the owner of Air Peace who has been partnering with the Super Eagles for some time now has promised to reward them with ten million Naira (Naira is Nigeria’s currency) for each goal scored. This will be a huge motivation for the team. With Kenechi Iheanacho’s terrific goal against Egypt, the Super Eagles will be confident of securing another comfortable 3 points to book their place in the round of 16. So Nigeria to win and under 3.5 goals is my pick.

2. PSG vs Brest

PSG have a good number of world-class players in their midst. They are doing very well in French League 1. They have won all their last 6 matches at home and are heavy favorites to win this one as well. PSG have no injury worries as the head coach have a fully fit squad to select from.

Brest on the hand have been producing inconsistent performances so far. They have managed to win only one of their last 6 previous matches. The team morale is down at the moment and I don’t see them taking anything from this match. PSG to have a comfortable win is my pick.
